Quick answer

If the request is for 200–499 sets, ask whether an eligible standard-style trial can meet the end customer's requirements; its available colors, print scope and hardware must be confirmed. For fully custom production, LANYVO's starting point is 500 pieces per design. Screen printing and complex constructions also start at 500 per design. Do not present the 100-piece trial route as a blanket minimum for any custom artwork.

The phrase wholesale lanyards with badge holders can describe either two loose components or a packed, ready-to-hand-out kit. Clarify that distinction before comparing prices. A distributor serving a school, government program or event must also check whether a domestic supplier, local stock, or a China factory order fits the deadline. LANYVO is a China-based supplier; a local-delivery requirement should be assessed honestly, including freight and customs.

1. Choose the order route before requesting unit prices

The existing MOQ guide explains the general route. This article focuses on the extra decisions created by the lanyard-and-holder kit: physical fit, assembly and shipping scope.

2. Make the holder specification measurable

Ask the end customer for the actual card or printed insert width and height, not a photograph alone. Record portrait or landscape orientation, usable internal holder dimensions, the opening and slot style, and whether a clear pouch or rigid holder is required. A nominal external size is not the same as the usable insert size. For a heavier or wider badge, check how a single clip hangs against the intended orientation; two attachment points may be appropriate only when the holder has matching slots.

Then set the lanyard width, flat length measurement method, material, print sides, logo repeat, clip and any breakaway requirement. A 20 mm strap can be a starting reference for an event kit, but it is not a universal size. Use the size chart to record dimensions and review a physical sample before the bulk order.

3. Approve one complete kit, not separate attractive photos

Request a proof or sample route showing the chosen strap and the actual holder together. Verify card insertion and removal, clip movement, strap length on a wearer, print legibility at the true width and how the finished kit will be packed. Photograph the approved configuration and keep the artwork revision and component names with it. A stock sample may confirm feel or hardware, while a printed pre-production sample may be needed for color and logo placement; agree which one is being approved.

4. Compare a like-for-like delivered cost

Ask every supplier to state whether the quote includes the strap, holder, clip, assembly, individual packing, artwork setup, sample, carton labels and freight. EXW pricing covers goods at the factory under the agreed term; shipping, import charges and local delivery require a separate plan. A cheaper unit price for loose straps is not comparable with a pre-assembled kit delivered to the buyer's location.

For a public-sector or education end customer, also ask which documentation, material statement or test report is actually required in the destination market. Do not assume a generic product photograph proves compliance. Confirm the exact document and whether the proposed construction can support it before promising it downstream.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order 200 fully custom printed lanyards with holders?

Do not assume so. We can assess an eligible standard-style trial from 100 pieces, but custom production and screen printing start from 500 pieces per design. Share the exact artwork and construction for a route-specific answer.

Is a 500-piece order one design or five designs of 100?

For a custom order, the starting quantity is per design. Five separate artworks need their own quantity and production review; grouping them into a shipment does not automatically meet the minimum for each.

Should the distributor buy straps and holders separately?

Only after confirming fit, packing labor and responsibility for mismatches. A kit quote can simplify compatibility and assembly, but compare the full cost and schedule against the same specification.
