Buyer Specification
Choose the breakaway construction by actual risk and use.
A breakaway feature can reduce entanglement risk in suitable ID-carrying programs, but the lanyard should still be assessed under the buyer’s own workplace or institutional policy.
Breakaway position
A release buckle is commonly positioned at the back or side of the neck. Confirm comfort and accessibility during sampling.
Webbing and width
Polyester, RPET or other suitable webbing can be selected with common width comparisons such as 15, 20 and 25 mm.
Logo method
Sublimation, screen printing or woven branding according to the artwork and selected webbing.
Attachment
Swivel hook, bulldog clip, split ring, badge reel or detachable buckle depending on the ID card and daily task.
Badge holder
Confirm internal dimensions, vertical or horizontal orientation, card thickness and slot type.
Use limitation
A promotional breakaway lanyard is not automatically certified personal protective equipment. Buyers should apply their own safety requirements.

What is a breakaway lanyard?
It includes a component designed to separate when tension is applied. The exact construction and expected behavior should be confirmed in the sample.
Are breakaway lanyards certified safety equipment?
Not automatically. Unless a product is supplied and documented to a specific standard, it should not be described as certified PPE.
Can a badge holder be included?
Yes. Confirm the holder dimensions, card orientation and attachment before sampling.
Can the lanyard also include a detachable buckle?
Yes, depending on the selected construction. A neck breakaway and front detachable buckle serve different purposes and should be specified separately.
